Resource or Project Abstract
The chemical and quantitative status of groundwater bodies must be classified as either good or poor to meet the requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive. The classification process involves a series of tests, one of which relates to groundwater-dependent terrestrial ecosystems (GWDTEs). The overall aim of this project was to contribute to the development of chemical and quantitative status tests for GWDTEs.

Supplementary Information About This Resource
In this section some supplementary information about this resource is outlined. Lineage information helps us to understand why this project was carried out, what policy or research requirements did it fulfil, etc. Lineage is important in understanding the rationale behind the carrying out of a project or the collection of a specific dataset etc. Links to web sites, applications, papers, etc are outlined to provide you with additional information or supplementary reading about the project or dataset
Lineage information about this project or dataset |
The project was funded to inform the development of chemical and quantitative status test for Irish GWDTEs within the context of groundwater body classification for the EU Water Framework Directive. The main focus was to see if currently available data can be used to determine groundwater nutrient threshold values for GWDTEs. |
Supplementary Information |
An ESRI Geodatabase (gdb) ZIP archive is provided for download.
