Resource or Project Abstract
This metadata describes the development of a Microsoft Access database to support the work of this project. The Access database contains both biological, chemical and catchment characteristics data from in excess of 400 Irish lakes (but also > 200 lakes in Great Britian)

Lakes in the British Isles and Ireland. The database contains data on the water chemistry, catchment characteristics and biological structure (littoral and profundal invertebrates, macrophytes, diatoms and fish) of over 400 Irish lakes. Lake midpoints are GPS referenced but actual sampling sites are not
