Resource or Project Abstract

The dataset is the field data from four sites. Each site has an on-site wastewater treatment system comprising either a septic tank (Sites 1 & 3) or a secondary treatment system (Sites 2 & 4) dishacrging into 4 trenches in a percolation area. Samples were taken across the percolation area at different depths in the subsoil by suction lysimeters. The samples were then analysed for both chemical and microbiological parameters (as detailed above). In addition, the flows to each percolation area were continually monitored, as were meterological parameters. This allowed the hydraulic loading to the subsoil (flows plus effective rainfall) to be calculated.
