Resource or Project Abstract

The second of two case studies involved the demonstration of the material flow accounting methodology and generation of water flow accounts for a particular region within Ireland. All water flows into and out of the river basin district are taken into account in drawing up the water flow accounts. This includes both natural and anthropological flows of water. The boundary for the water flow accounts consists of the geographical area of the river basin district (RBD) as well as flows into and out of water bodies within the RBD itself.
