Resource or Project Abstract
The objectives of the workshop 4 are as follows;
1. to explore monitoring methods currently used in SEA
2. .to examine the use of environmental indicators for monitoring
3. to ensure the development of high quality monitoring programmes
4. to provide further links and to encourage new research opportunities
The objectives of the workshop 3 are as follows;
1. to test the methodology for selecting indicators developed in Workshop 1
2. to test the applicability of the criteria established for selecting indicators in Workshop 2
3. to advance the knowledge base resulting from previous Workshops
4. to provide further links and to encourage new research opportunities
The objectives of the workshop 2 are as follows;
1. to develop criteria for indicator use and their role in monitoring
2. to advance the knowledge base resulting from Workshop 1
3. to provide further links and to open up research opportunities
The aims of the workshop 1 were as follows;
1. To develop a methodology for establishing indicators for use in the SEA process.
2. To establish a core suite of indicators for biodiversity, air, water and climatic factors for use in SEA.
3. To provide an opportunity for specialists in the various fields and in SEA to collaborate.
4. To provide a forum to meet with counterparts from other member states which might have future transboundary implications.

This is a series of workshops sponsored and organised by the Environmental Protection Agency Ireland (under the ERTDI programme). There were FOUR workshops in this series. The workshops were held in
* June 2005 * November 2005 * April 2006 * October 2007 All workshops were held at the Herbert Park Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin, Ireland. The principal organiser of all workshop events was Dr. Alison Donnelly. This formed a significant part of Dr Donnelly's Strategic Environmental Assessment Research Fellowship at EPA from 2004 to 2007. |
