Resource or Project Abstract

Three different types of intramolecular complexes were prepared, based on a light absorbing centre, a catalytic centre connected via a bridging ligand. It was realised from the beginning of this project that the metals mentioned above are expensive since the metals are not abundant, but this approach was necessary since the use of these metals allows for the development and understanding of the novel concepts needed to achieve our goal. However, in the 2nd phase of the project, 2nd generation compounds based on abundant metals such as zinc and cobalt were investigated.

In this section some supplementary information about this resource is outlined. Lineage information helps us to understand why this project was carried out, what policy or research requirements did it fulfil, etc. Lineage is important in understanding the rationale behind the carrying out of a project or the collection of a specific dataset etc. Links to web sites, applications, papers, etc are outlined to provide you with additional information or supplementary reading about the project or dataset

Lineage information about this project or dataset
Global climate change and security of energy supply are increasingly perceived as the most serious threats facing the world?s medium and long-term future. This realisation has lead to the establishment of a UN driven Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol in 1997. It is clear that increasing CO2 concentrations have the potential to seriously threaten live on earth as we know it now and novel methods to reduce CO2 concentrations are needed.
